RADWIN, the global wireless broadband provider, today announced that service provider Bioniq in Middleburg, South Africa, has deployed its RADWIN JET AIR Beam-forming Point-to-Multipoint solutions in 5GHz to deliver high-speed broadband to its residential and business customers. MiRO Distribution, a leading distributor based in South Africa, was the sole distributor.
Alexander Botha, Managing Director, Bioniq: “There are 8 ISPs in town, all competing for the same frequency band in 5 GHz which causes major radio interference. Our previous broadband equipment – although it promised 130 Mbps – simply could not deliver more than 1 Mbps throughput. We turned to our distributor MiRO Distribution in our search for a high-capacity broadband solution and they recommended RADWIN.”
We tested the JET AIR 250 Mbps Beamforming base station and were so impressed with the test results that we started implementing JET AIR PtMP straight away. Our experience with RADWIN’s gear has been overwhelmingly positive and our customers enjoy a consistently high-speed broadband connection. We’re getting a lot of word-of-mouth promotion with clients referring us to friends based on the equipment we use and the service levels they’re getting.”
Bertus van Jaarsveld, Managing Director, MiRO Distribution: “RADWIN JET AIR offers a compelling solution for ISPs, bringing carrier-class reliability and performance down to an affordable price level. When Bioniq approached us looking for a solution that would provide high capacity and operate flawlessly in a high-interference zone, we knew RADWIN was the optimal solution to fulfil their needs.”
Peter Turvey, GM Middle East, South & East Africa, RADWIN: “RADWIN JET delivers carrier-grade service in a tough environment. The JET AIR Bi-Beam™ Beamforming technology cuts through the highest levels of interference to deliver high capacity. Our equipment gives service providers peace of mind and requires virtually zero maintenance – ‘install and forget’ is what we consistently hear from our service provider customers. JET PRO 750 Mbps and JET AIR 250 Mbps series answer the needs of Tier-1 carriers and ISPs serving enterprises and homes, empowering them to build robust, scalable and high-speed broadband networks.”
