Underpinning its business philosophy to provide the market with best of breed wireless convergence solutions, MiRO has added a further product range to its burgeoning basket of high-quality brands. According to MiRO CEO, Bertus van Jaarsveld, the company’s appointment as a Master Distributor of Cambium Networks increases the valued added to customers looking for broadband point-to-point (PTP) and point-to-multipoint (PMP) platforms.
Cambium Networks has a large footprint of customers in 150 countries worldwide, with over 5 million access and backhaul radios deployed across a number of applications. MiRO will be leveraging Cambium Networks’ extensive knowledge base and product reliability to provide the southern African market with a secure and scalable network solution, delivering high throughput and breakthrough spectrum efficiency.
MiRO launched the ePMP, ePMP Force, cnPilot and cnMaestro ranges in March 2015 at its branches in Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town and Nelspruit. Cambium ePMP are designed for Ethernet bridging over PMP links in the license-exempt 5 GHz range. They allow service providers to build cost effective fixed wireless broadband access solutions, with exceptional performance levels in environments where high levels of interference are commonly experienced.
The Cambium ePMP Force products are characterised by high performance and speed with low latency and superior packet processing capabilities. These premier products are ideal for wireless backhaul over long distances, with maximised throughput and stability.
cnPilot is Cambium’s cloud-managed wireless solution for indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi access applications. The E400 and R201 models are designed to allow rapid deployment and easy operation, with one-stop, intelligent remote diagnostics enhancing the offering.
Managing and monitoring the entire network is facilitated with Cambium cnMaestro. This free solution can be used on the cloud or deployed on the network premises and allows end-to-end network lifecycle management in terms of inventory management, onboarding devices, daily operations and maintenance.
“A number of features make the Cambium products an attractive option for customers and include the GPS Sync solution for spectral efficiency and higher throughput. eFortify allows one to mitigate external interference through the use of adaptive modulation and ‘air fairness’. In addition, the highest priority is given to VoIP, and allows one to prioritise subscriber modules within one’s network,” Van Jaarsveld concludes.
