As more surveillance functionality is pushed out from central servers and recording devices to the camera, the more desirable it becomes for the camera to perform some kind of analysis of the images in its field of view and make decisions about what to stream to the server and what to ignore. Uniview has now embedded analysis capabilities into all H.265 cameras to achieve this aim.
Benefits of edge analytics
The main benefits of edge analytics are:
- Reduced demand on network bandwidth and storage requirements
- Scalability: because the analytical computation/processing takes place on the sensor device.
Below are the various edge analytical capabilities offered for FREE by Uniview:
People Counting
The IP camera will automatically count the number of people that enter or leave an area through a specific entrance. This will help you better understand your customer traffic patterns and help you calculate your stores' sale conversion rate. This can also improve security by ensuring that no one is left in the building after closing time.
Face Detection
Whether you wish to recognize, identify or verify a person, a camera with facial recognition software is an efficient solution. It can help you improve customer service and protect your assets by identifying important customers or potential perpetrators. Uniview’s Facial recognition smart function is a perfect complement to your surveillance system, enhancing security and/or customer experience in real-time.
Monitoring of entrance and exit points-Line Detection
The application detects moving objects that cross a virtual line, making it possible to automatically trigger an alarm. Line Detection is suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations and in variable lighting conditions. It is well suited for many situations, including video monitoring of building entrances, loading docks and parking lots.
Intrusion Detection
Intrusion Detection is used to monitor high-security areas. You create a virtual perimeter around the area that you want to monitor and if anyone crosses that perimeter the IP Camera will take a snapshot of the intruder. The IP Camera will also detect whether the intruder has left the high-security area or not.
Attention: Accuracy is highly depending on the installation environment.
