Uniview’s new PTZ camera, the IPC6242SR-X33G-IA, is the ideal surveillance tool for monitoring remote, wide areas and with its auto-tracking feature that detects moving objects and automatically tracks and follows them, perimeter control has never been easier!
How does the auto-tracking feature work?
When configuring the PTZ you can set detection parameters such as line crossing (if an object crosses a specified line in the FOV of the camera). When a moving object violates this rule (crosses a line) not only will the camera start following the object but it will also take a snapshot to document the event. See for example the link below.

Application
To take full advantage of this feature the PTZ is ideal for low traffic areas that might not require constant manual monitoring, but still require a high level of security.
What else can you expect from the IPC6242SR-X33G-IA
Optics
The IPC6242SR-X33G-IA features a 2MP (max resolution 1920p x 1080p) sensor with an accurate and fast focusing 33x optical zoom. The PTZ also boasts advanced features such as Smart IR ( a distance of 150m) for maximum visibility at night and an optical glass window for higher light transmittance in low light conditions.
Compression
The PTZ makes use of H.264 compression technology that will help save you space on your NVR and bandwidth usage.
Network
The PTZ is also ONVIF conformant which means that you can implement it into your existing surveillance network with minimal effort or expense.
Structure
Not only does the housing have a protection rating of IP66 against dust and rain, but it can also withstand extreme temperature fluctuations due to intelligent temperature control and heat dissipation technology (–40°C ~ +70°C), humidity ≤ 90% RH (non-condensing) and even has an innovative snow-removing functionality. These structural features make it ideal for the outdoors, be it on a farm in the Karoo or a ski resort in the Drakensberg.
The UN-IPC6248SR-X22 on its own, without any external protection, has a surge protection of up to 6KV. According to research, an inductive stroke 10m from the power cable causes less than 4KV voltage which means that the 4KV surge protection can comfortably satisfy the camera’s daily protection needs.
